Superhome Tours
The Superhome Tours are a great way for people to connect, to learn, and most importantly to experience what it is like inside a Superhome.
Whether on a Tour weekend day or on one of the Superhome Bus Tours this is your opportunity to find out more and to meet and talk with knowledgeable professionals who really care about designing and building high quality homes.

“The Superhome Tours give you the opportunity to see both mid-build and finished homes – different kinds of build and architecture... You get to see the people who design the home and why they do what they do and TALK to them directly. It's not always about spending more money, but it's how to THINK SMARTER, how to spend money in the right places.”

“The council has been involved with the Superhome Tours over the years – the public embrace the level of architecture and innovation. They are open to the public, which is something the council can't do. We use it as a tool – it's a great way for people to experience and embrace the homes.”
Julie Villard: Architect and Eco-Design Advisor, Christchurch City Council

“The great thing about Superhome Tours is that it gives the opportunity for people to visit different types of homes by different designers and builders. It's an exceptional time for clients, potential clients, builders, subcontractors and designers to come together and go through it all and understand what is available out there.”
Dan Saunders: Dan Saunders Construction

“What amazed me was that a lot of the clients / homeowners were so happy to open up their homes and share them with the public. They were often there all day to share their experience and how the process went. I think the Tours are the REAL VOICE behind the Superhome Movement.”
Susanne Schade: Architecta

“The Superhome Tours are a great way to see the homes in action and to work with the professionals who are designing, building and installing... and to see a variety of homes from high-end to the lower, better values type of house as well as renos. The key is that you start to pick up on the fundamentals, and what everyone is doing to move toward a Superhome..”
Marcus South: Warmth.nz & Moisture Master (2024)

“(Superhome BUS Tours) They are always an educational event to go to – you get to mix with all of the stakeholders, with other suppliers and proud homeowners who've achieved what they wanted to achieve – the works in progress to the finished product. It's a very enjoyable and down to earth way of getting to see what an energy-efficient home looks like”
Darren Ballantine: Metro Glass

“A great way to get the real feedback from the homehowners – pull them aside and understand their likes, and even dislikes – the learning experience. They tend to be less technical which becomes a lot easier to understand and educate. The Superhome owners are prepared to open their homes because they are PROUD of their homes and want to SHARE!”
